Tomes of Expertise

Tomes of Expertise are progression rewards found in PvM loot. Using a tome grants permanent progress in one of the 49 active skills.

Where to find them

  • Eligible PvM creatures have a 7.5% chance to drop a tome.
  • Animals are excluded from this drop.
  • Tamed animals, creatures that were previously tamed, and summons also do not generate this reward.

The tome appears in the creature's loot and follows the corpse's normal lifetime. Open the corpse before it disappears.

How much a skill can advance

Most tomes grant a small gain. High values are rare and should not be treated as guaranteed outcomes.

Tomes from the Craft and Harvesting families grant at most 1.0 skill. Progress is permanent and respects the current limit of the selected skill.

How to use one

Keep the tome in your backpack, set the listed skill to raise, and double-click it. The tome is consumed when the gain is applied.
