Days of Britannia runs on a modern Ultima Online emulator. Its classic base is extended with custom PvP and PvM rules for the shard's direction.

Ruleset limits

The classic ruleset does not include Weapon Abilities, Special Moves, Necromancy, Chivalry, Bushido, Ninjitsu, Spellweaving, Mysticism, Throwing, Imbuing, Slayer, Super Slayer, or modern UO Skill Masteries. DoB's own PvM Mastery is the shard's exception.

Talismans, set bonuses, Extended Weapon Attributes, special artifact bonuses, Virtues, Battle Lust, magical foods, Item Insurance, pet bonding, and LRC, LMC, Faster Casting, and Faster Cast Recovery also grant no PvP advantage. AOS Fire, Cold, Poison, and Energy resistances do not enter PvP damage.

Clean Up Britannia, Ultima Store, and Vice vs Virtue are unavailable. Alchemy remains relevant to craft success but does not change finished potion potency; Inscription does not modify magic damage, Reactive Armor, Protection, or Magic Reflection.

Controlled pets and player-owned summons cannot attack or damage other players, but remain usable normally in PvM.
